How often will my child come?
This decision is totally up to you. However, our goal is for your child to have a life-long love of learning. As such, we don’t want to overwhelm them right off the bat. Unless your child needs intense help and will be signing up for our boot camp classes, we recommend starting most students with 1 class a week. We can always add more later.
How long are the classes?
We recommend for most students to have weekly 45-minute classes. However, if your child is working on more than 1 subject, then we recommend 60-minute classes.
How quickly will I see results in my child’s grades?
Unfortunately we can’t answer that question definitely. It depends on many factors such as if your child is behind, and how far they are behind, as well as how motivated your child is to learn new information. Another factor is how often you child comes and how much they are going to do on their own. However, many of our students start showing improvement in a few weeks. We strive to change their attitude while giving them positive reinforcement and teaching each child in the way they learn best.
What ages do we have classes for?
We have classes for everyone, starting at 18 months with our Mommy & Me classes, up through adults where we can help with GEDs, college classes, or test preparation for almost any professional test, including the PAPA.
What subjects do we offer?
We offer classes in almost every subject. Most of our clients come for classes or camps that supplement what they are learning in schools, such as creative writing, music, Latin, Spanish, German, science, and history. We also offer classes for those who are struggling in school in all subjects like reading, math, and writing. Does your child need help in study skills or test preparation? We do that, too!
How long do they have to come for?
We understand that things come up and your family’s need change often. Therefore, for the most part, we are on a month-by-month basis. We do assume that your child will be continuing classes, and ask that if you are not, that you give us at least 2 weeks notice. The only time we have a contract for a time period is if your child is failing and it is less than 2 months before the end of the class. For those students, you can either register for a boot-camp class OR you can sign a contract for 6 months of weekly classes. We do this because if they are failing at the end of the class, they have to relearn the entire class over again. If they don’t, they will be right back to struggling when the school year starts again, and we don’t want to see that happen to anyone.
